  1. Design Stage - begins with a measured survey of the property for the purposed of drawing up plans of the existing house. These drawings are then used to develop design options for discussion with the client. Once the preferred option is confirmed, the proposal can then be taken into the next stage.

  2. Planning Application - the design layouts are developed into a set of drawings that can then be submitted to the local borough council for plans approval

  3. Building Works Package - the approved plans are developed in more technical detail for the purposes of obtaining prices from builders and for submission to council for Building Regulations compliance

While each project is different, the process can generally be divided into stages with the necessary architectural services:

Garden design

  1. Outline design - begins with a site survey and analysis as well as a comprehensive client discussion to determine the brief. This info is then used to develop a design concept for the garden. 

  2. Detail Plan - after client approval, the design concept is developed into a dimensioned detail plan showing all areas of hard and soft landscaping. This is used to obtain prices from landscape contractors and to build the scheme.

  3. Planting Plan - is a drawing that indicates the type, number and position of plants in the garden plan
